Atlas Leisure Homes, which began trading in 1973, entered istration in March with 180 job losses

The Atlas Leisure Homes brand and model designs have been bought for an undisclosed fee.

Hull-based Atlas, which had made static caravans and holiday lodges since 1973, went into istration in March with 180 job losses.

The company blamed a downturn in the market since the Covid-19 pandemic and said it had been unable to secure new investment for the business.

The Rix Group said the brand would be added to its existing portfolio of holiday homes, which includes Hull-based Victory Leisure Homes.

James Doyle, managing director of the Rix Group, described Atlas as "a real Hull success story" and said the brand had built up a significant market share, according to Local Democracy Reporting Service.

"The brand has a huge number of faithful followers, many of whom are intergenerational, choosing Atlas due to the fond memories they have of holidaying in an Atlas leisure home with their parents or grandparents," he said.

Mr Doyle said he was delighted to have the opportunity to "bring the brand back to life".

Atlas's managing director Steven McGawn previously described the situation as "incredibly disappointing".

"We, alongside our competitors, have shared in the market downturn that followed the pandemic in what has been a very challenging few years for everyone in the industry," he said.

In its most recent s, covering the year to September 2023, Atlas recorded turnover of £68.8m and pre-tax profits of £69,000.

It opened a second manufacturing site in 2020 but underwent two restructuring exercises in the last two years.
