Mwaksy makes custard creams
Mwaksy is ed by two very special guests from CBBC's Malory Towers, Ella who plays Darrell and Sienna who plays Sally. They all have a go at making the tastiest looking custard creams straight from the show!
- 110g unsalted butter
- 60g caster sugar
- 2 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp milk
- 160g plain flour
- 60g instant custard powder
- 150g icing sugar
- 70g unsalted butter
- 1 heaped tbsp instant custard powder
STEP ONE
Don’t forget, before you do any cooking make sure you’ve washed your hands to stop germs spreading to your food.

STEP TWO
Start by preheating your oven to gas mark 4, make sure you ask an adult to help with this. Then add 110g butter, caster sugar, vanilla extract and milk to a mixing bowl and beat. Once beaten really well, add your custard powder and flour and beat together until you have a smooth dough.

STEP THREE
Next, put down some flour on your chopping board so the dough doesn't stick, then roll it out until about an inch thick, before cutting into shapes. Mwaksy has cut hers into Blue Peter badges, but you can make them whatever shape you like. to make double the amount of biscuits you want, as you have to stick them together at the end!

STEP FOUR
Next, line a tray with some baking paper before placing the biscuits onto the tray. Bake the biscuits for approximately 8 - 12 minutes, or until golden brown.

STEP FIVE
Mix together the 150g of icing sugar, 70g unsalted butter, 1 heaped tbsp instant custard powder and 1 tsp vanilla extract (for the filling) until the texture is smooth, before putting a second biscuit on top to finish.

STEP 6
Make sure you wash your hand before eating... And then enjoy!
