Officers said they carried out a 'comprehensive' investigation into the report

A woman has been charged in connection with wasting police time following reports of a sexual assault and robbery in Nairn.

Officers were probing claims a woman was attacked between the town's Jubilee Bridge and Church Road on 17 February.

However, they have since established no sexual crime or robbery occurred after a "comprehensive" investigation.

A 39-year-old woman has been charged over the incident and will appear at Inverness Sheriff Court at a later date.
