Manufacturing a solar-powered phone charger from scrap

Mark Kragh, managing director of Know Your Planet, shows how his company can make simple solar-powered mobile phone chargers from scrap materials.

His company makes and sells solar-powered components.

He will travel to Kenya in 2012 as part of a charity project to help teach people how to make the solar chargers, in order to try to establish a new cottage industry in the country.
