Hibernian were denied a first Scottish Premiership win of the season after conceding a stoppage-time equaliser at Kilmarnock.
Bruce Anderson converted from the spot after being fouled by Jordan Obita to earn Kilmarnock's first point of the season and cancel out Joe Newell's sublime opener.
Whether Newell's intention was to shoot or to cross is up for debate, but his whipped effort was enough to beat Kieran O'Hara five minutes into the second half.
The Hibs captain was the hero for a while but his Kilmarnock counterpart might have been the villain had his side not levelled late on.
Kyle Vassell added himself to an already-competitive 'miss of the season' nominee list by inexplicably failing to convert an open goal from less than two yards out.
For those interested in statistics, Newell's opener yielded an xG rating of 0.01. Vassell's first half miss was 0.73.
Both sides hit the frame of the goal at 1-0 before Anderson won and scored the penalty in stoppage time.
David Gray is still yet to win a league match as Hibs manager but Kilmarnock, at the fourth time of asking, finally have a point on the board.

Nectarios Triantis impressed in his first match since returning to Hibs on deadline day.
He won more duels and completed more successful dribbles than any other player on the pitch.
The Sunderland-loanee was used as a midfielder on Sunday, but often played as a centre back during his previous loan spell at the club.
A magnificent solo run almost ended in a goal, but the Australian's effort battered the crossbar from a difficult angle.

For the second week in a row, Hibs have conceded late to miss out on their first victory of the season.
Rival fans have long taunted the Easter Road club for 'Hibsing it', an unwanted term to describe their regular capitulations. But they are showing repeated signs of it.
David Gray's side had control of the second half until the final 10 minutes. For some reason, from that point on, they looked fragile and an equaliser seemed inevitable.
There appears to be a nervousness around this side when defending leads, and the head coach must find a way to banish that if they are to finish anywhere near the top six this season.
Hibernian head coach David Gray: "We know where we need to improve but there were much more positives today, that's for sure.
"My frustration is that we weren't able to see it out. For 99% of the game, I thought it was a very good performance away from home.
"The break comes at a really good time. We have a lot of new gs who all need time to gel together.
"Some of the players are a little bit low on confidence, this break gives us time to work on those areas where we know we can improve."

Triantis made 14 appearances on loan at Hibs last season after ing in January
Nectarios Triantis believes he can "flourish" in a holding midfield role at Easter Road after re-ing the Edinburgh club on deadline day.
The Australian completed a season-long loan deal from Sunderland, becoming Hibernian's 10th g of the window.
Despite initially being deployed as a centre-back under former boss Nick Montgomery last season, new head coach David Gray quickly pushed Triantis forward into Hibs' midfield during his spell as caretaker.
"I really enjoyed his honesty, in of where he sees me, and his vision of me as a player," the 21-year-old said. "It aligned with my thoughts and helped me make my decision quickly.
"Having that backing from the manager and him giving the freedom to play in that position is the best thing about it. I think I can flourish in that position this year."
"You could see towards the end of last season, I really excelled when I was playing as a six. I think I can do that again this season."
Warron O'Hora says Hibs can't keep making the same mistakes but has full confidence the team will gel quickly.
The Leith club are currently second bottom of the Premiership with just one point from their first three games.
"We're big boys, we're professional footballers, we know these mistakes can’t keep happening," he said.
"As a team we need to defend better. Everybody can see we're a new team still gelling together. We’ve got two new centre-backs and a goalkeeper.
"It’s difficult in any team to have that, but especially at a club this size where the expectations are so high, so to gel and get that confidence between each other and know what each other’s strengths are will take time."
Greenock-born Iredale spent two years at Cappielow from 2017-19
Hibernian have signed defender Jack Iredale on a two-year deal from English League One side Bolton Wanderers.
The 28-year-old former Greenock Morton and Queen's Park centre-half has made over 250 career appearances and was an under-17 international with Australia.
David Gray says he adds "extra flexibility and competiton" in the backline.
"Jack is an experienced centre-half and knows the Scottish game well from his time at Greenock Morton and Queen’s Park," the head coach told the club's website.
"We’ve wanted to add a left-footed defender to the first team squad this window, and he adds extra flexibility and competition for places being comfortable at both centre-half and left-back.
"It’s great to be able to welcome Jack to Hibs and we look forward to working with him."
Nectarios Triantis has returned to Hibs on a season-long loan from Sunderland.
The 21-year-old made 14 appearances for Hibs across all competitions, primarily as a defender, but he is comfortable as a defensive midfielder.
He played twice under David Gray at the end of last season, and the head coach said he is "delighted to bring back a character".
"I’m delighted to bring Nectar back to the club," he added. He’s someone I really enjoyed working with last season."
Gray also stressed he views Triantis as a defensive midfielder.
“Nectar is someone I see as a defensive midfielder who has also played a lot at centre-back, which naturally gives him a strong defensive mindset and discipline to dominate the middle of the pitch.
"I look forward to working with him once again.”
Allan Delferriere has ed Racing Union Letzebuerg on a season-long loan from Hibernian.
The central midfielder made nine first-team appearances since his debut in May 2022.
The 22-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at MFK Vyskov in Czech Republic.
David Gray said the move "is best for his own development to be playing regular football.".
The head coach added: "This opportunity provides exactly that – and will be a good chance for Allan to play at another competitive level and keep improving."

Motherwell have confirmed the season-long loan g of Portuguese winger Jair Tavares from Hibs.
The 23-year-old ed the Easter Road club for an undisclosed fee two years from Benfica 'B', but has struggled for regular action, making 17 starts.

Hibs head coach David Gray said: "This loan gives Jair an opportunity to gain regular game time, which will benefit him at this stage of his career."

Celtic have made a bid for Dundee midfielder Luke McCowan.
No deal has yet been agreed but the champions are hopeful of the securing the 26-year-old's g before the deadline at 23:00 BST.
McCowan, who is in the final year of his contract, was previously linked with a move to Hibs this summer.
He has made 123 Dundee appearances and scored 28 goals - including three in eight this season - since ing from Ayr United three years ago.
We asked for your views on where Hibs still need to strengthen and what deals you would like completed before the transfer window closes.
Here's what some of you said:
Bob: Disappointed with performances and obvious weakness in defence which has been a major problem at Easter Road for many seasons but nobody seems to do anything about it. Definite transfers needed to replace the goalkeeper and two central defenders. Carry on with what we have currently and the Championship awaits.
Kenny: We keep saying as fans that the defence isn't good enough, we can all see the problems. The goalkeeper is also suspect. We need a driving midfielder too and we need to go back to a 4-4-2. Playing one up front doesn't work, it's beginning to look to us that the management team are clueless.
Sandy: Luke McCowan, we've heard it so often mentioned the bids we've put in, it'll be a real disappointment if it doesn't transpire.
Liam: With Jordan Obita our only left-back, we need competition in that position. Another centre-half is needed, especially if Rocky Bushiri moves on, most importantly we must strengthen our central-midfield with real quality, not a last minute loan deal for a 21-year-old reserve player from down south. Our current midfield is simply not good enough.
David: We still need the defence tightened up, the midfield is weak at the moment, again new blood is required there and probably another forward thinking player as back up for the front line.
Scott: I'm hoping for a miracle at the end of the window as we need serious upgrades, up front, centre-midfield, central defence, left back and goalkeeper. If some positions are not addressed we are in deep trouble.
David: We certainly need one centre-back. Rocky Bushiri is a bomb scare and the new gs haven't impressed, I still feel we need a 10. We are drowning in centre-midfielders but none standout, several need to go and the others don't offer a proper threat.
Joshua: We need to sign the left-back, Owen Beck that Dundee had, and centre-back Ciaran McKenna from Hamilton.
Ross: Luke McCowan would be great, an older centre-half and defensive midfielder would be ideal. It's going to take time to gel, there's no panic from Hibs fans, just shut out the noise from the so call experts.
Last Saturday was almost the turning point Hibs had been looking for, with Kieron Bowie scoring to put them 2-1 up against Dundee.
A late equaliser denied Hibs a first Premiership win of the season but Bowie getting a goal so early in his Easter Road career will do him no harm at all.
The Scotland Under-21 forward, 21, is back in Scottish football after four years plying his trade down south and on Sunday he will be hoping to find the net against a Kilmarnock side who exited the Conference League at the hands of Copenhagen on Thursday.

Hibs have given French forward Elie Youan 'full '
Hibs say they are "disgusted" with alleged racist abuse directed at Elie Youan on social media.
The club have launched an investigation into the Instagram message and vowed to take "the strongest possible action".
Hibs' statement added: "The club condemns this abhorrent action in the strongest possible way.
"Racism and any kind of discrimination have no place at Hibernian FC, in football, or society as a whole.
"Elie has the full of everyone at Hibernian."
