Thanks for ing us for day six of the 2025 French Open as men's defending champion Carlos Alcaraz had to answer a few questions to book his spot in the fourth round.

We lacked a British angle but it'll be worth the wait once day seven rolls around.

British pair Cameron Norrie and Jacob Fearnley meet for a place in round four tomorrow afternoon, while British number one Jack Draper meets Brazil's Joao Fonseca.

Here's a run down of the main headlines on day six at Roland Garros:

• World number one Aryna Sabalenka produced another devastating display to reach the French Open fourth round and continue her pursuit of a first Paris title, beating Serbia's Olga Danilovic 6-2 6-3.
• Defending champion Iga Swiatek also progressed, winning 6-2 7-5 against Romania's Jaqueline Cristian.
• Chinese eighth seed ZhengQinwen won 6-3 6-4 against Canada's Victoria Mboko.
• In the men's draw, defending champion Carlos Alcaraz required four sets to get beyond Damir Dzumhur.
• American pair Tommy Paul and Ben Shelton, seeded 12th and 13th respectively advanced while Italian eighth seed Lorenzo Musetti and Danish 10th seed Holger Rune both also progressed.

Defending French Open champion Carlos Alcaraz: "It's a great energy in the night session. We live and experience a different energy than when you play in the day.

"I didn't enjoy it too much today, I suffered quite a lot but I'm happy to have played a good match with Damir. We played some good rallies."

On how the match turned at the start of the third set: "That's why it's difficult to win Grand Slams because you have to maintain your focus over three or four hours. The first two sets were under control and then he decided to play deeper and more aggressive. My energy went down and it was hard to push but I had to give everything I had inside. I'm proud to get the win in the end."

On hitting a forehand of 143kmph: "I love playing this kind of game, hitting aggressively and getting to the net. When I feel confident I go for it without thinking about it. The ball comes and I try to just hit it."

On how he will recover: "Thank you to the people who stayed - it's midnight now. I don't know if I would have stayed to watch my match, so thank you for staying to the end.

"Now it's the other match, we call it the other match where I have to recover and eat. I probably won't get to bed until 3am. Behind the scenes we play another match to recover for the next one."

Carlos Alcaraz has some doubt over whether the serve is in but he returns and Damir Dzumhur smashes a winner back down the line.

Carlos Alcaraz cracks a forehand into the advertising hoardings around the edge of the clay to ensure there is no return. 15-15.

Carlos Alcaraz claws back one point but is on the back foot throughout the next and eventually succumbs to the pressure.

But it's not going according to the script as Carlos Alcaraz fires wide before the net cord favours Damir Dazumhur to hand the Bosnian a 30-0 lead against serve.

It's approaching midnight in Paris as Carlos Alcaraz prepares to serve for the match.

A big player for the big moment.

He wins a fourth game in succession and needs just one more to close out the match.

Damir Dzumhur has applied some tape to his left hand to try and address the issue he was having in that previous game.

It seems to be working initially but he's not quite hitting with the same aggression as the game develops and Carlos Alcaraz now has break point.

There was a time when looked like this match might be wrapped up in around two hours but we're now almost three hours into this third round tie.

How Carlos Alcaraz would look to get a second break now and put that finishing line firmly in his sights.

Damir Dzumhur appears to have an issue with his left hand. He keeps looking at the palm of his hand and then talking to his coach.

Carlos Alcaraz goes on to hold.

Carlos Alcaraz thinks he has secured the hold when he hooks the ball left but it's called out - it was tight but looks the right call.

Carlos Alcaraz cups his hands to his ears after a lobbed shot lands just the right side of the white paint - it's the first time for a while we've seen that kind of positive reaction from him.

The Spaniard benefits from a long Damir Dzumhur backhand to get break point.

We may have just had the point of the match.

They slice it back-and-forth across the net before Carlos Alcaraz eventually slams it into the corner.

Alcaraz lures Damir Dzumhur wide right before attacking with a powerful hook to wrap up the game on the opposite side.
